The Role of a Practice Nurse

Nurses  are  an  important part  of  delivering  care  in  general  practice.  Current  policy  is  increasing the  shift  of  care from  hospital  to general  practice  providing  nurses with  a really exciting  career  choice.

The  General  Practice Career  Framework  provides a clear  pathway  which  nurses can  use to  guide  and shape their  career  within  general  practice.

The  skill  mix in  general  pactice  now  often includes Health  Care  Assistants  (level  2 - 4), Practice Nurses (5 - 7), Advanced Nurse Practitioners (7 - 8) and  Nurse  Partners (level  9).
